During my ten years as a veterinary assistant, I discovered how much I loved working with and training my own dogs. Over the years I explored different training methods, but something never quite felt right, until I had a series of my own reactive Australian Shepherds. My dogs helped me realize those training methods simply did not work and that’s when I found positive, reward-based training and everything clicked. I learned it’s not just about teaching behaviors – it’s about building trust, confidence, and a relationship you genuinely enjoy with your dog. And my dogs have thrived.
I worked with several Karen Pryor Academy trainers in St. Louis, deepening my passion for reward-base training, before moving to Wilmington in 2023, where I have continued training in the community.
I’m also a working mom, which means I get it. Life is busy, messy, and full of competing priorities – and you’re still trying to do right by your dog in the middle of it all. That’s why my training approach is realistic, practical, and designed to fit into your actual life (not some picture-perfect version of it).
I love helping families raise puppies and helping them see their adult dogs in a whole new light. Even if your dog is struggling or simply not quite “there” yet, please know they can become a confident, happy companion. With my background as a veterinary assistant and professional trainer, I bring a trained eye to every session – carefully observing behavior, body language and the full picture. You can feel confident knowing I use science-based, positive methods tailored to your individual dog – so you feel capable, informed and back in control.
“I have been exposed to many different types of training throughout my life, and I can say, with utmost confidence, that positive reinforcement training works. There is nothing you will say or do that I will judge. I have heard it all. I am here to help you, to make your day easier, and to help your dog. When s**t hits the fan, I’ve got you!”
